D.O., Wins Product Category at Germany's 'IF Design Award 2020'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Digital dentistry company Dio (CEO Jinbaek Kim) has been selected as a winner in the product category of the German international design competition, the IF Design Award.
The IF Design Award, launched in 1953 under the auspices of the International Forum in Germany, is considered one of the world's top three design awards alongside Germany’s Red Dot and the United States’ IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards). It comprehensively evaluates design, innovation, and functionality across seven categories: ▲Product ▲Package ▲Communication ▲Concept ▲Service Design ▲Interior ▲Architecture.
Dio submitted the ‘UV Activator2’ in the product category of the IF Design Award, achieving the remarkable feat of winning the design award by differentiating not only with its outstanding technology that surpasses the limitations of implant surface treatment but also with its design, distinct from previous products.
The ‘UV Activator2’ features an innovative product structure that maintains a compact size and elegant form while providing a convenient user environment through a display control method. It was highly praised for maximizing product usability as a chairside solution with a short ultraviolet irradiation time of just 20 seconds.
In particular, the control pattern composed of an LCD display allows easy operation and boasts a precise and highly refined design. The two selectable LED blinking lights in pink and blue, aligned with current trends, visually enhance the product’s exterior delicately, and an open-type design suitable for chairside use was also applied.
