Gochang-gun, Recruiting Students for New Farmer School Training
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 10th that it is recruiting students for the Newbie Agricultural School (formerly the Return-to-Farming and Rural Living School), which provides customized education for newcomers returning to farming and rural areas, until the 14th.
The education combines theory and field practice, including basic farming technology education to help new returnees easily approach agriculture and rural areas, cultivation techniques for Gochang-gun's major income crops such as bokbunja (Korean black raspberry) and watermelon, as well as cultural education to aid adaptation to the local community.
Any prospective returnees preparing to move to Gochang from urban areas or those who have moved to Gochang-gun within the past two years can apply to the Newbie Agricultural School (formerly the Return-to-Farming and Rural Living School). Those wishing to enroll should apply by the 14th at the Eup/Myeon offices or at the Residential Agricultural Startup Support Center located in Yongsan-ri, Buan-myeon.
Last year, 87 students completed a total of 100 hours of education, consisting of 4 hours per day from March to November, including basic farming technology education and field experiences at excellent farms.

A Gochang-gun official stated, “We focus on stable settlement of returnees by inviting instructors who provide agricultural information, senior returnees who have successfully settled, and leading farms equipped with agricultural know-how and technology.”
