On the 9th (local time), The New York Times (NYT) reported on Parasite's Best Picture win, stating, "A foreign-language film has finally won an Oscar," and added, "Hollywood has finally reached a starting point to move beyond its excessive reliance on stories told by white filmmakers about white people." The NYT further described Parasite as "a monumental work beyond just a film" and "a movie that reminded all of Hollywood of the importance of inclusion."
