On the 10th, KORAIL announced, "At the international design competition 'iF Design Award 2020,' the Eurasia High-Speed Train won the Gold Award in the Concept Design category, and the Ticket Vending Machine won the Main Award in the Product Design category."
The iF Design Award is the world's largest design competition, started in 1953 under the International Forum in Hanover, Germany. Along with Germany's 'Red Dot' and the United States' 'IDEA,' it is considered one of the world's top three design awards.
The Gold Award-winning 'Eurasia High-Speed Train' is a concept design envisioned by the KORAIL Design Center for a Korean-style high-speed train that will run along the Trans-Siberian Railway in the future.
Designed with a streamlined shape to achieve high speed, it is inspired by the image of a solid and strong shield. It features an automatic adjustment of the wheel spacing to match the tracks on which the train runs.
