Announcement of the 2020 Busan City Local Government Employee Appointment Plan
Selection of 1,329 Civil Servants in 28 Job Series Including Administrative Grade 9
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Yoseop] Busan City (Mayor Oh Keo-don) has finalized the '2020 Busan Metropolitan City Local Government Employee Recruitment Plan' and announced that a total of 1,329 candidates across 28 job categories will be selected in two rounds, including 494 administrative level 9, 150 social welfare level 9, and 174 facility level 9 positions.
The total number of recruits, 1,329, is an increase of 357 from last year's 972. This reflects the demand for workforce expansion due to the expanded implementation of social welfare services and Busan City's commitment to resolving youth employment issues in the region.
By rank, the recruitment includes ▲5 positions at level 5 in the medical field ▲15 administrative level 7 ▲48 nursing level 8 ▲494 administrative level 9 ▲82 tax level 9 ▲150 social welfare level 9 ▲145 industrial level 9 ▲174 facility level 9 ▲13 research positions ▲3 guidance positions, among others.
Additionally, to expand public service opportunities for persons with disabilities and low-income groups and maintain the mandatory employment rates (at least 5% for persons with disabilities and 2% for low-income groups), 109 candidates (73 persons with disabilities, 36 low-income) will be recruited separately, an increase of 31 from last year's 78.
To secure excellent personnel in response to rapidly changing administrative demands and ensure fairness in the examination, open competitive exams will be the principle. However, for research, guidance positions, some technical positions, and technical high school graduates from specialized high schools and Meister high schools, recruitment will be conducted through career competitive exams to strengthen expertise in each field.
The '1st recruitment exam' will be held on June 13 to select 1,279 candidates across 19 job categories including administrative level 9 and social welfare level 9, followed by the '2nd recruitment exam' on October 17 to select 50 candidates across 13 job categories including administrative level 7 and research positions.
Applications for the 1st recruitment exam will be accepted from April 6 to 10, and for the 2nd recruitment exam from August 10 to 14. Applications can be submitted online through the Local Government Internet Application Center, and application fees will be waived for low-income applicants.
