[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseonghun) is recruiting food truck operators for the Food Truck Zone in front of Exit 2 of Doksan Station from the 14th to the 20th to provide stable business locations for food truck operators and entertainment for residents.
The total number of food trucks to be recruited is 2, and each operator can apply for one truck. The items for sale must be those of a snack bar or bakery business, and the sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
Applicants must be registered residents of Seoul and have their main business location in Seoul as of the announcement date, and must be able to register and own a food truck. Additional points will be given to youth facing employment difficulties and those receiving livelihood, housing, or medical benefits.
Operators wishing to participate can download the application form, business plan, and other documents from the Geumcheon-gu Office website (www.geumcheon.go.kr) under the Notices section, fill them out, and submit them in person along with the required documents to the Regional Economy Division on the 11th floor of Geumcheon-gu Office.
The district will form a Food Truck Operator Selection Committee and select the final operators on the 24th based on document screening, evaluating △menu composition △cooking expertise △hygiene and quality △truck design, ranking applicants by highest scores.
The selected operators can operate at the designated location for one year from the start date (designated date) after completing preliminary procedures such as business plan establishment, business registration, hygiene education, and business reporting. Extension is possible once if renewal conditions are met.
The district created the Food Truck Zone through the 2017 Seoul City Food Truck Pilot Street Project to improve the problem of fixed illegal street vendors at Exit 2 of Doksan Station and to provide self-reliance measures for vulnerable groups.
Yuseonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “The Food Truck Zone project was implemented to organize illegal street vendors, create a pleasant sidewalk environment, and contribute to job creation and revitalization of the local economy. We will promote the Food Truck Zone project by legalizing illegal street vendors and supporting the self-reliance of small business owners by operating the Food Truck Zone at local festivals and events.”
