Concerns Over New Coronavirus Spread... Some Starbucks Stores to Shorten Business Hours Starting Next Week
Average Operating Hours Reduced by 1 Hour at 300-400 Stores
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Due to concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia), Starbucks will shorten the operating hours of about one-quarter of its domestic stores.
A Starbucks Coffee Korea official stated on the 7th, "To prevent the novel coronavirus and minimize customer inconvenience, we have decided to shorten the operating hours of some stores starting next week."
This measure will initially apply to 300 to 400 stores nationwide, depending on the region and store situation, with an average reduction of about one hour. The targeted stores and shortened hours may fluctuate depending on future circumstances. If the situation prolongs or worsens, the number of affected stores and the reduction in hours may increase.
Starbucks currently operates over 1,300 stores domestically. These stores typically open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. without distinction between weekdays and weekends.
