Preliminary Candidate Shin Jeong-hoon Holds Meeting with Naju SRF Joint Countermeasure Committee
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Shin Jeong-hoon, the Democratic Party of Korea preliminary candidate for the National Assembly representing Naju·Hwasun, Jeonnam, held a meeting with the Naju Combined Heat and Power Plant Waste Fuel Usage Opposition Citizens' Committee and expressed a strong commitment to resolving the SRF issue.
On the 6th, during his visit to the Citizens' Committee office, preliminary candidate Shin stated, "I will actively support finding a solution in accordance with the governance committee's agreement regarding the Naju Combined Heat and Power Plant."
Kim Yong-in, chairman of the Citizens' Committee, urged, "I hope there will be a firm stance recognizing SRF as a hazardous facility," while spokesperson Park Mi-young insisted, "A sincere plan of pledges that can be shared with citizens must be presented."
In response, preliminary candidate Shin said, "I respect the activities of the Citizens' Committee, which persuaded Jeonnam Province to activate the governance committee and convinced related agencies including the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to reach an agreement," adding, "Many people may have doubts, but I will fulfill the role and responsibility of a mediator."

He continued, "I will closely negotiate with the governance participants such as the Korea District Heating Corporation, Jeonnam Province, Naju City, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to reach an agreement on acceptable loss costs."
