Seoul Public Middle School Teacher Appointment Results Announced for 854 Candidates ... Group Training Postponed to August
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education will announce the final successful candidates for the '2020 Academic Year Public (National) Secondary School Teacher Appointment Candidate Selection Competitive Examination,' totaling 854 people, on the 7th at 10 a.m. via its website.
The final successful candidates passed the first round, which included written exams in education and major subjects, and then underwent the second round consisting of practical and experimental tests, lesson plan preparation, teaching demonstrations, and in-depth interviews before being finally selected.
The final successful candidates number 854 across 31 subjects (824 general candidates and 30 with disabilities), including 641 secondary school teachers, 53 health teachers, 13 librarian teachers (including 1 national), 22 nutrition teachers (including 1 national), 58 professional counseling teachers, and 67 special (secondary) teachers.
Among the total 854 successful candidates (651 women and 203 men), the female ratio is 76.2%, slightly down from 76.9% last year. In the disability category, a total of 30 candidates were selected, including 6 individuals with severe visual impairment classified as grade 1.
Applicants can check their final pass status themselves through the 'NEIS Online Recruitment Service.' The job training for newly appointed teachers consists of remote training (40 hours) and group training (12 hours). The remote training will be conducted from the 10th to the 19th of this month, while the group training is scheduled for August to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia).
