[Lee Isul, Entertainment Reporter]
Actor Jung Woo-sung expressed his determination to showcase a new charm.
On the morning of the 6th, during an interview held at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, he shared various stories about the film Beasts Clawing at Straws (directed by Kim Yong-hoon).
On that day, Jung Woo-sung said, “I have never wanted to choose a work just to meet the audience’s expectations,” adding, “I did not choose this film because I thought it was okay to do it just because it was Jung Woo-sung.”
He reflected, “If an actor only acts chasing the image the audience wants, it is nothing more than reproducing the same character,” and “I have never acted that way.”
He continued, “I thought about designing Taeyoung to be somewhat new and balanced with the story,” and “After the first shoot, the director was a bit taken aback.”
In the first scene, Jung Woo-sung shows an unrestrained charm while talking on the phone with Yeon-hee (played by Jeon Do-yeon) from a taxi. He recalled, “The director showed interest during the second shoot as well.”
He added, “Jeon Do-yeon was also surprised during our first shoot. Her expression was like, ‘Is it okay for Jung Woo-sung to act like this?’ But she was not worried,” and said, “It was a continuous process of convincing the co-actors and the director. I acted with confidence and conviction.”
