Kibo Announces '2020 Technology Credit Evaluator Qualification Examination Plan'
Conducted Three Times This Year... Registration for the First Exam Starts April 1
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Jung Yoon-mo, hereinafter referred to as Kibo) announced on the 6th that it plans to conduct the 'Technology Credit Evaluator Qualification Examination,' which has been implemented since 2016 to train specialized personnel in technology finance, a total of three times this year.
The first exam this year is for the Technology Credit Evaluator Level 3 and will be held on April 25 in the Seoul and Busan areas. Applications can be submitted online through the Technology Credit Evaluator Qualification Examination website from April 1 to April 15, and successful candidates will be announced on May 11. A Technology Credit Evaluator is a professional appraiser who conducts technology evaluations on intangible assets such as specialized technologies or intellectual property held by companies, as well as credit evaluations on overall credit and financial status, and calculates these into grades or amounts. Demand is continuously increasing, especially in the financial sector, and it is expected to have a positive impact when hiring new employees according to the financial sector’s plan to expand internal personnel specializing in technology finance.
Since the introduction of the Technology Credit Evaluator exam in 2016, Kibo has produced a total of 3,419 Technology Credit Evaluators, including 39 Level 1, 638 Level 2, and 2,742 Level 3 evaluators. Since 2017, Kibo has established and operated a training course to cultivate practical technology finance specialists, and this year, it plans to continuously operate practical training courses for those holding bank credit analyst certificates and those who have passed the Technology Credit Evaluator exam.
Director Lee Jong-bae of Kibo stated, "As a first mover in technology finance, Kibo has been operating the Technology Credit Evaluator qualification system to expand the base of technology finance," adding, "We will continue to prepare various support measures and take the lead in revitalizing technology finance."
