Ministry of National Defense: Navy Civilian Employee in Contact with Patient 17 Tests Negative
[Asia Economy Reporter Yang Nak-gyu] A naval civilian employee who had contact with a patient infected with the novel coronavirus (Wuhan pneumonia) tested negative in the coronavirus test.
On the 6th, the Ministry of National Defense stated, "The naval civilian employee who was quarantined after contact with the 17th confirmed domestic case of the novel coronavirus infection tested negative, and considering the incubation period, the quarantine measures will continue."
The civilian employee A had a meal with the 17th confirmed patient and their family on the 25th of last month. Civilian employee A was contacted by the family of the 17th confirmed patient and reported this fact to the unit. Immediately after receiving the report, the unit isolated civilian employee A alone within the unit and placed six office colleagues under self-quarantine. It is reported that none of the seven currently show any particular symptoms.
According to the guidelines of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, civilian employee A is subject to simple quarantine as no symptoms have appeared, the Ministry of National Defense said.

The 17th confirmed patient is a 38-year-old Korean male who attended a seminar in Singapore from the 18th to the 24th of last month. He is currently quarantined at Myongji Hospital in Goyang.
