A crime drama about people desperately trying to seize a bag of money. It is a relay of lives at the bottom. The complex story is omitted and condensed to be presented concisely. Perhaps because of this, the message contained in the 'baton' is not impressive. It feels like the atmosphere of desire and pressure is only partially created. The satirical tone is also rather weak. In short, the 'straw' in the title does not read as the proverbial 'a drowning man will clutch at a straw.' The actors show diverse performances. Although Jeon Do-yeon, who carries the weight of the story from the middle, will be talked about, overall Jung Woo-sung's change of mood stands out the most. With a witty interpretation, he skillfully avoids the swamp of d?j? vu. On the 31st of last month, it received the Special Jury Award at the Rotterdam International Film Festival.
