"BTS Beats Justin Bieber, Holds Record for Most No.1s on Billboard 'Social 50'"

[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] The group BTS has surpassed Justin Bieber to become the artist who has held the No. 1 spot on the US Billboard 'Social 50' chart for the longest time.
According to the official Billboard chart Twitter on the 3rd, BTS has achieved the most cumulative No. 1 rankings on the latest 'Social 50' chart.
Billboard stated that BTS has held the No. 1 position for 164 weeks, breaking the record of 163 weeks held by singer Justin Bieber since March 2011.
The 'Social 50' chart reflects an artist's internet influence. The analytics company 'Next Big Sound' ranks artists based on their SNS followers, mention frequency, views, and other factors.
BTS not only set a new record for the most No. 1 rankings on the 'Social 50' but also demonstrated their influence on social media while making history on Billboard.
The official Billboard chart Twitter revealed the top 10 of the Billboard Social 50 chart as of February 8, 2020, stating that Billie Eilish ranked 2nd, Ariana Grande 3rd, NCT 127 4th, Justin Bieber 5th, Lil Nas X re-entered the chart at 6th, NCT DREAM 7th, Tyler, The Creator 8th, TOMORROW X TOGETHER 9th, and MONSTA X 10th.
Billboard said, "BTS's rising tally is attributed not only to the promotion of their new song 'Black Swan' but also to their joint performance of 'Old Town Road' with Lil Nas X at the Grammy Awards on the 26th of last month."
Meanwhile, BTS, who are set to make a comeback with their 4th full album MAP OF THE SOUL:7 on the 21st, entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 57 with the pre-release track 'Black Swan' on the 17th of last month, as well as the UK Official Chart and Spotify Top 200 Chart.
