Yongsan-gu Announces 300 Million KRW Public-Private Partnership Job Project Competition
Applications accepted from 13th to 14th... Around 6 corporations and non-profits to be selected... 300 million KRW job fund distributed... Youth and 40s employment support projects to continue until year-end
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Yongsan-gu (Mayor Seong Jang-hyun) is conducting a public-private partnership job project using the district's job fund, targeting mainly youth and people in their 40s.
The project period is from March to December, with flexible adjustment possible within this timeframe.
Eligible applicants are corporations and non-profit organizations with understanding and expertise in job projects; organizations without a representative or manager, and simple social clubs are not eligible.
The project fields include ▲ youth employment support and job-linked education and training ▲ strengthening the role of the local community for vulnerable employment groups such as people in their 40s, new middle-aged, career-interrupted women, and the elderly ▲ and other job projects aimed at solving local issues.
The district will accept project applications on the 13th and 14th from 9 AM to 6 PM at the Job Economy Division on the 5th floor of the district office. Related forms can be downloaded from the announcement and notice section on the district website (http://www.yongsan.go.kr).
The project budget should be allocated as 20% for labor costs (including four major insurances, severance pay, annual leave compensation, etc.), 65% for direct project costs (rental fees for equipment, program development costs, meeting expenses, research allowances, etc.), and 15% for indirect project costs (travel expenses, printing costs, public utility fees, etc.).
The district will conduct document and on-site evaluations to verify the accuracy of submitted materials, effectiveness, feasibility, and execution capability. The selection results will be announced on the district website by the end of this month.
Approximately six organizations will be supported. The number will be adjusted according to this year’s budget allocation of 300 million KRW from the job fund.
A district official stated, “Support may be withdrawn if the project is delayed or deemed impossible to complete.”
The district first established the job fund at the end of 2018. The fund is expected to be finalized at around 11 billion KRW by June. In addition to the public-private partnership job project, the district plans to allocate 2 billion KRW from the fund for youth enterprise loans this year and continue support throughout the year.
Mayor Seong Jang-hyun of Yongsan-gu said, “The local economy has become more difficult due to the novel coronavirus,” and added, “We hope for active cooperation from the private sector to increase the employment rate of district residents.”
