Boseong-gun Establishes New Honorary Veterans Allowance This Year
‘As Expected, the Land of Willingness!’ Following the Increase in Combat Honor Allowance, Establishment of Veterans Honor Allowance Shows a Model of ‘Warm Veterans Support’
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yong-chul] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 3rd that it will establish a new Veterans Honor Allowance starting this year and begin full-scale implementation.
The newly established Boseong-gun Veterans Honor Allowance provides 30,000 KRW per month, totaling 90,000 KRW per quarter, to national merit recipients and their families. As of the end of January, the application rate reached 90%.
Following the increase in the Combat Honor Allowance in 2018, the county has received positive evaluations for showing respect to veterans who sacrificed for the nation by establishing the Veterans Honor Allowance this year, living up to its reputation as a county of patriotic spirit.
Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, said, “We will do our best to ensure that not a single veteran is discriminated against or neglected, and we will continue to pay attention to repay the patriotism and meritorious service of veterans’ families.”
Meanwhile, Boseong-gun plans to complete the construction of a Veterans Memorial Tower and the development of a Memorial Park around Boseong Hyunchung Tower by the end of May this year, to serve as a practical educational site for honoring national merit recipients and promoting patriotism, and to boost the pride of veterans and their families.

The Veterans Honor Allowance is currently paid to national merit recipients, special mission personnel, and their families residing in Boseong-gun, and is provided to veterans who do not receive the Combat Honor Allowance. Applications can be made at the resident welfare department (Customized Welfare Division) of the town or township office of the applicant’s address.
