Naju-si to Accept Applications for 'Double Cropping Paddy Direct Payment' Starting from the 6th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 3rd that it will accept applications for the 'Rice Paddy Double Cropping Direct Payment' from the 6th of this month until July 13th.
The Rice Paddy Double Cropping Direct Payment is a system designed to stabilize the income of farmers practicing double cropping in rice paddies and to preserve the public value of rice paddies, which are the foundation of agriculture.
Eligible applicants are agricultural management entities cultivating winter crops from last October to the upcoming June on farmland eligible for rice direct payments. This includes forage crops, cereals, miscellaneous grains, and tubers.
However, farms with non-agricultural comprehensive income exceeding 37 million KRW, farms with cultivation areas of 1,000㎡ or less, farmland subject to land conversion reports and consultations, and farmland under disposal orders are excluded from eligibility.
Applications for direct payments can be submitted by visiting the administrative welfare centers in the towns, townships, or neighborhoods where the farmland is located.
After receiving applications, the city will confirm the recipients through compliance inspections and plans to pay the direct payment (500,000 KRW per hectare) in November.
