Jeju Air Strengthens Disinfection Against 'Novel Coronavirus'... Disinfects Every Flight from China
Crew Members Must Be Immediately Excluded from Duty if Experiencing Fever, Cough, or Other Symptoms
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Jeju Air announced that starting from the 3rd, it will conduct disinfection immediately after passengers disembark from every flight arriving from China. This is a strengthened measure compared to the previous practice of disinfecting daily after the completion of flight operations.
According to Jeju Air, the disinfection process for each flight takes about 2 hours. Boarding for the next flight will occur after ▲disinfection ▲drying ▲ventilation are completed. A Jeju Air official stated, "We are currently adjusting the schedule to secure disinfection time," adding, "Even if some delays occur, it is important to prioritize passenger safety."
Jeju Air also plans to further strengthen existing quarantine measures. First, flight attendants will check for abnormalities such as fever and cough before flights, and if any symptoms appear, they will be immediately excluded from duty.
Additionally, thermometers and hand sanitizers will be provided on the aircraft and offered to passengers when necessary. Announcements regarding infectious disease prevention are being made in three languages: Korean, English, and Chinese. All these measures are reportedly overseen by the company's internal crisis response center.
