Japanese Airline 'ANA' Suggests Possible Suspension of China Routes
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Hirako Yuji, president of All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan's largest airline, hinted at the possibility of a complete suspension of flights to China due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia).
On the 31st, President Hirako said at a business partnership event with Singapore Airlines held in Tokyo, "The China route is a very important market," but also stated, "We cannot help but consider suspending operations."
ANA operates flights to 11 destinations in 10 Chinese cities, including Wuhan, the origin of the novel coronavirus. Earlier, it announced that the Wuhan route would be suspended until March 1.
