Miryang City's Agricultural Food Exports Surpass 40 Billion Won Last Year
117% Increase Compared to Last Year · Fresh Agricultural Products Up 180%
Export Countries, Items, Volumes, and Amounts All Grow Steadily
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Son Taeseok] Miryang City, Gyeongnam Province, surpassed 40 billion KRW in exports of agricultural products and processed agricultural foods last year.
The export amount increased by 117% compared to the previous year as all areas including target countries, items, quantities, and amounts grew evenly.
Compared to 2018, the number of exported fresh agricultural products increased by 5 types, processed foods by 1 type, and a total of 7 new items were added.
Miryang City secured a stable export market in Hong Kong by continuously inviting overseas buyers for export consultations and discovering new overseas buyers to strengthen competitiveness in the global market. Thanks to this, fresh agricultural product exports rose by 180% compared to the previous year.
In addition, processed agricultural foods such as kimchi, apple juice, sikhye, nurungji, and plant-based cream also contributed to the increase in export amounts.
Miryang City plans to challenge the designation as an export-specialized company promoted by Gyeongnam Province to sustain continuous exports.
