SMEs Subcontracting for Large Corporations... Public Procurement Win-Win Cooperation Recruitment
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] A new support system for win-win cooperation between large and small businesses, in which large companies subcontract part of their contracts from small businesses, will be actively promoted.
According to the '2020 Public Procurement Win-Win Cooperation Support Participating Companies Recruitment' plan announced by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups on the 31st, this system allows small businesses participating in public procurement market supply contracts through win-win cooperation to become the lead companies, and mentor companies and material/component companies wishing to participate in the procurement market through cooperation with the lead companies can join as partner companies.
The public procurement win-win cooperation support system is designed to support small businesses' entry into the public procurement market through win-win cooperation between large and small businesses, strengthen the innovation capabilities of small businesses, and promote sales channels for core material and component companies. Applications from participating small businesses will be accepted from today until March 16.
This system was established to strengthen the innovation capabilities of small businesses through win-win cooperation between large and small businesses. It was designed to suit the domestic public procurement situation by referring to overseas cases such as the U.S. 'Mentor-Prot?g? Program.'
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to revise preferential treatment regulations so that small businesses selected under the win-win cooperation support system can smoothly enter the public procurement market. The system will be revitalized by reflecting purchase performance in public institution evaluations, among other measures.

No Yongseok, Director of Global Growth Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "We expect that the newly implemented win-win cooperation support system will activate win-win cooperation in the public procurement market, which has been sluggish so far. Through this system, we will help strengthen the capabilities of startup companies or small businesses with technological skills to enter the public procurement market and promote the innovative growth of small businesses by supporting sales channels for core materials and components."
