In addition, an emergency meeting of the neighborhood leaders was convened to ensure that prevention guidelines are thoroughly communicated to as many residents as possible, and the "Jongno-gu Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters" is being operated to actively respond for early detection of the virus.
On the 28th, the district held a meeting of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters to establish a cooperative system and share information among related organizations. Following the meeting, Jongno-gu is accelerating efforts on "strengthening surveillance of suspected patients," "enhancing response of local medical institutions," and "operating quarantine task forces and the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters."
First, the district is collecting suspected patient cases by immediately reflecting currently confirmed information and changing situations for those who have visited Hubei Province within the last 14 days, those with fever or respiratory symptoms, those who have had contact with confirmed patients, and those showing pneumonia symptoms after traveling to China.
Also, when patients with fever and respiratory symptoms visit local medical institutions, their overseas travel history is checked, and whether they have visited Wuhan City, China, is confirmed through the Health Insurance Subscriber Inquiry system.
Above all, suspected patients will be promptly reported to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Furthermore, centered on the Jongno-gu Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, which consists of seven task forces including the Situation Management Team, Life Support Team, Medical Quarantine Team, Environmental Maintenance Team, Administrative Support and Volunteer Team, Order Cooperation Team, and Disaster Publicity Team, the district will actively respond to rapidly changing situations and strive to protect residents' health.
The novel coronavirus is mainly characterized by symptoms such as fever above 37.5 degrees Celsius, cough, and difficulty breathing. For prevention, personal hygiene management such as hand washing, hand sanitizing, and wearing masks is essential, and those with cough or respiratory symptoms must wear masks and visit medical institutions without fail.
