Park Ji-won "Ahn Cheol-soo Will Form a Third Party to Become Presidential Candidate"
"No Plans to Pursue Integration with the Korean Party through the Revolutionary Unity Committee"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] On the 30th, Park Jiwon, a member of the Alternative New Party, analyzed former Bareunmirae Party co-chairman Ahn Cheol-soo, saying, "(Former Chairman Ahn) may form an independent party and, if the Innovation Integration Promotion Committee (IIPC) succeeds, he can form a coalition, but he will not join that party (Liberty Korea Party)."
In an interview with TBS Radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' on the same day, Park said, "If former Chairman Ahn joins the Liberty Korea Party, he first considers whether he can become the party leader and presidential candidate," adding, "Because of this, he will not integrate through the Liberty Korea Party's IIPC."
Park continued, "Former Chairman Ahn believed that Son Hak-gyu would step down as the Bareunmirae Party leader and declared he would not run to protect the party, but since the situation did not unfold that way, he ultimately decided to establish a new party," explaining, "He judged that it would be difficult to become the presidential candidate as the party leader within Bareunmirae Party, so he is founding a third party."
Park also stated, "The Bareunmirae Party was discussing going together with the Alternative New Party or the (Democratic) Peace Party, but it is questionable how the current Honam-origin lawmakers remaining in the Bareunmirae Party think," adding, "There is also a possibility that Honam lawmakers will unite to form a single party."

Furthermore, Park commented on former Democratic Party emergency committee chairman Kim Jong-in, saying, "It is not true that he has no intention to join," and added, "Although there is no clear answer, I understand that if the three parties?Bareunmirae Party, Alternative New Party, and Peace Party?unite, there is a possibility he will join."
