Two New Uri Neighborhood Care Centers Opened in Guro-gu
Establishment of 3rd and 4th Branches in Guro 1-dong and 2-dong... Contributing to Filling the Gap in After-School Care for Elementary Students... Providing Universal and Regular Care Services Regardless of Income Level... Expanding to 11 Locations Within This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) is opening two Our Neighborhood Care Centers.
On the 30th, Guro-gu announced that it will establish and operate Our Neighborhood Care Centers in Guro 1-dong and 2-dong to reduce the childcare burden for dual-income families.
Our Neighborhood Care Center is a project jointly operated by Seoul City and autonomous districts to fill the care gap for elementary school students. It provides universal and continuous care services to children in need of care regardless of income level. The hours of operation are from 1 PM to 8 PM during the school term, and from 10 AM to 8 PM during vacations.
The Guro 1-dong Our Neighborhood Care Center was created on the 2nd floor of Hyundai Celebrity Apartment Building 202, located at 46 Guil-ro 4-gil, with an area of 84㎡. It will open on February 1.
The Guro 2-dong Our Neighborhood Care Center, with a total area of 117㎡, is located on the 2nd floor of Hwawon Comprehensive Social Welfare Center (484 Beotkkot-ro). It began operation on the 1st of this month.
The centers provide basic care activities such as helping with homework and sending children to academies, as well as various programs including reading, art, and physical education.
Residents who wish to use the service can apply through the Our Neighborhood Care Portal website (https://iseoul.seoul.go.kr/icare).
Previously, Guro-gu opened and has been operating the first and second Our Neighborhood Care Centers in Gaebong 3-dong and Guro 5-dong within the district.

A Guro-gu official stated, “We plan to expand Our Neighborhood Care Centers to 11 locations within this year,” adding, “We will create a space that satisfies both parents and children through solid operation.”
