[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Forest Service announced on the 28th (local time) that Park Jong-ho, head of the Korea Forest Service, met with Ibrahim Thiaw, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), in Bonn, Germany, and signed a memorandum of understanding to officially launch the "Peace Forest Initiative." The memorandum of understanding focuses on establishing a cooperation framework between the Korea Forest Service and UNCCD to concretize and implement decisions made at the UNCCD Conference of the Parties.
