[Asia Economy Reporter Yang Nak-gyu] The site for the integrated Daegu-Gyeongbuk new airport has been virtually decided as the joint candidate site of Uiseong Bian and Gunwi Sobo.
On the 29th, the Ministry of National Defense announced that the Daegu military airport relocation site selection committee decided to select the site with the higher combined score of the resident referendum approval rate (50%) and voter turnout rate (50%) between the sole candidate site (Gunwi Ubo) and the joint candidate site (Uiseong Bian and Gunwi Sobo).
The score calculated from the resident referendum held on the 21st in Gunwi and Uiseong showed that the joint candidate site (Uiseong Bian and Gunwi Sobo) led with 89.52 points, ahead of the sole candidate site (Gunwi Ubo) with 78.44 points.
However, Gunwi County applied to host the sole candidate site regardless of the resident referendum results.
