[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] In the Tibet Autonomous Region (Xizang), the only region in China that had not reported any confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia), a suspected case has been added for the first time.
On the 29th, the National Health Commission of China (NHC) announced that as of 0:00 on that day, there were 1,459 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus and 26 new deaths. Among them, 25 deaths were newly reported in Hubei Province, which includes Wuhan City, the origin of the virus.
They added that 3,248 new suspected cases were reported across 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities). Until the previous announcement, confirmed and suspected cases had been reported in 30 provinces, but this announcement added one more, making it 31 provinces. The NHC explained that one suspected case was reported in Xizang.
If the suspected case in Xizang is confirmed, it means that the entire country of China will have been infected with Wuhan pneumonia.
