China's Wuhan Pneumonia Cases Near 6,000 Confirmed... 132 Deaths (Update)
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia) has approached 6,000. The death toll has risen to 132.
On the 29th, the Chinese National Health Commission (NHC) announced that as of midnight, there were 1,459 new confirmed cases and 26 new deaths of the novel coronavirus across 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities). In Hubei Province, which includes Wuhan City, the origin of the virus, 25 additional deaths were reported.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases in the 31 provinces reached 5,974. Among them, 1,239 patients are in serious condition, so the death toll is expected to continue rising.

The total number of deaths so far is 132. The number of suspected cases is 9,239. The number of close contacts of confirmed cases is 65,537. Among them, 59,990 are currently under medical observation.
