Seongnam City Supports SMEs in Obtaining Overseas Certifications... Up to 5 Million KRW per Company
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will provide up to 5 million KRW per company to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in obtaining overseas certifications.
On the 29th, Seongnam City announced that it will spend 80 million KRW this year to support 16 SMEs seeking to acquire overseas standard certifications.
Selected companies can receive support for up to 70% of the costs related to product testing, certification, and consulting required to obtain overseas standard certifications. The maximum support amount per company is 5 million KRW.
The overseas standard certifications supported include 418 types such as CE (European Community Mark), FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration), RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances in European electrical and electronic equipment), and CCC (China Compulsory Certification).
These overseas standard certifications serve as a kind of "certificate" required by the importing country when exporting products. They help increase trust in the products locally and facilitate smooth export processes.
Eligibility to apply is limited to SMEs with headquarters or factories located in the Seongnam area. Applications must be submitted by the 14th of next month, including the application form (available on the city’s website), last year’s export performance confirmation, and technical level documents.
