Amorepacific Announces Recruitment for Pink Run Participants to Prevent Breast Cancer
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Amorepacific will hold the ‘2020 Pink Run’ in five cities nationwide this year in collaboration with the Korea Breast Health Foundation to raise awareness about breast health.
The Busan Pink Run, held on March 15 at the Haeundae Yacht Stadium in Busan, will recruit 5,000 participants on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 28th on the official Pink Run website.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the Pink Run is an annual running festival organized by Amorepacific and hosted by the Korea Breast Health Foundation to provide useful information on breast health management and to promote the importance of early breast cancer screening.
Since its inception in 2001 through 2019, approximately 370,000 people have participated, and about 4 billion KRW in participant donations have been raised. Open to people of all ages and genders, the Pink Run actively contributes to popularizing the Pink Ribbon campaign and fostering a culture of participation by creating social consensus and spreading support for the importance of self-examination practice.
When applying for the Pink Run, participants can choose between a 10km and a 3km course, and all participants will receive a functional T-shirt. The entire participation fee of 10,000 KRW per person will be donated to the Korea Breast Health Foundation to support surgery and screening for breast cancer patients.
Marking the 20th anniversary of the Pink Ribbon campaign, Amorepacific plans to share the achievements of the past 20 years, propose a healthy lifestyle guide, and continue practical activities to raise breast cancer awareness and prevent recurrence.
