Confirmed Wuhan Pneumonia Cases in Singapore Increase to 3...
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] A confirmed case of the novel coronavirus (Wuhan pneumonia) originating from China has been reported in Singapore.
According to local foreign media on the 24th, the Singapore Ministry of Health announced that the number of confirmed Wuhan pneumonia cases has increased to three.
A 66-year-old Chinese man who entered from Wuhan, Hubei Province, China on the 20th was confirmed positive on the 23rd. His 37-year-old son, who accompanied him, was also confirmed to have contracted Wuhan pneumonia on the same day. Additionally, a 53-year-old woman who entered from Wuhan on the 21st was confirmed positive and is currently receiving isolated treatment.
The Singapore Ministry of Health explained that there have been 44 suspected cases so far, of which three have been confirmed positive, and 13 were found to be unrelated. The results of detailed tests for 28 individuals have not yet been released.
