These are small-scale business spaces. Most of these places often have poor environments.
In such places, a Seoul district government official who "lights up a bright light" is receiving applause and becoming a quiet topic of conversation.
The protagonist is Lee Seon-ha, head of the media team in Seongdong-gu (54). Recently, while visiting a shoe repair shop near Seoul City Hall, Lee saw the dim lighting and immediately thought that the regular fluorescent lights should be replaced with LED lights.
Later that Saturday, Lee loaded equipment into the car and went to replace the lights.
A, who does shoe repair, told the reporter, "Even though it was his day off, Team Leader Lee personally came by car and replaced the lights with LED lights, making the indoor lighting much brighter. I am very grateful."
Lee’s good deed did not stop there. Recently, while having lunch at a small neighborhood restaurant in Geumho-dong, Seongdong-gu, he noticed that the lights there were also regular fluorescent lights and quite dim, so he again visited on a Saturday and did not hesitate to replace them with LED lights.
He spent about 35,000 won but did not want to receive any payment. However, the restaurant owner B insisted on showing gratitude by buying a small box of tangerines and telling him to take it home, so he had no choice but to accept it.
The reason Lee was able to gift "brightness" to people running businesses in poor environments like this is known to be due to the skills he learned while working part-time in electrical work during his youth.
Lee said, "It seems to be because of the electrical work experience I learned when I was young. When I see places that have not yet been replaced with LED lights and are in poor condition, I find it hard to just pass by."
Lee is busy working with Public Relations Officer Lee Hyun-sik, and officers Jeong Mi-rang, Kim Eun-ae, and Kim Min-ju to promote the advanced administration of Seongdong-gu Mayor Jeong Won-oh.
