Gochang-gun Activates 24-Hour Emergency Quarantine System to Respond to Wuhan Pneumonia in China

Earlier, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention raised the infectious disease disaster crisis alert level from "Interest" to "Caution." Accordingly, Gochang-gun also organized a situation team of 19 members in 5 teams with the head of the public health center as the head of the quarantine countermeasures team and began operating a novel coronavirus screening clinic (Gochang Hospital).
In addition, preventive measures and behavioral guidelines are being communicated through 14 towns and townships, 564 village chiefs, and the Gochang-gun website.
Residents visiting Wuhan City, China, were advised to avoid contact with wild animals and poultry in China, refrain from visiting markets and medical institutions with infection risks, and avoid contact with people showing respiratory symptoms (fever, difficulty breathing, etc.).
Upon entering the country, travelers are requested to fill out the health status questionnaire sincerely and report to quarantine officers if they have fever or respiratory symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, etc.). If fever or respiratory symptoms occur within 14 days after returning, they are also advised to consult the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention call center (1339) or the public health center first.
