Jungbu Power Receives Presidential Citation for 2019 Disaster Response Safety Korea Drill

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Korea Midland Power Co., Ltd. announced that it received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award for its contribution to the expansion of the corporate disaster reduction activity system hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. Last year, it also received the Presidential Citation for the first time among power generation public enterprises during the Disaster Response Safety Korea Drill.
On the 22nd, Midland Power announced that it conducted the Disaster Response Safety Korea Drill for a week starting from October 28 last year.
The drill was conducted jointly with related organizations, including situation assessment meetings and discussion-based training. It applied various information and communication technologies (ICT) such as augmented reality (AR)-based training situation analysis, drones, and smart bands.
On October 31 last year, at the Sejong Power Headquarters, a scenario for complex disasters such as fires and hazardous chemical leaks caused by an earthquake was developed and trained during an agency representative drill, greatly contributing to strengthening disaster response capabilities and cooperation systems with related organizations.
Additionally, the training experience group participated in all processes to improve local residents' disaster response capabilities and to alleviate vague concerns about disaster damage occurring near urban power plants.
They also implemented the construction of a virtual reality (VR) safety experience center at Daecheon Beach, conducted fire evacuation drills for CGV audiences, and held safety quiz competitions for local daycare centers.
On December 26 last year, Midland Power received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award for its contribution to creating a safe Korea through the expansion of the Business Continuity Management system promoted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
