Dongshin University Freezes Tuition Fees for the 2020 Academic Year
Admission Fee Reduced by 20%
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Dongshin University (President Choi Il) will freeze tuition fees for the 2020 academic year and reduce the admission fee by 20%.
Dongshin University announced on the 21st that it held a tuition review committee meeting and decided to freeze undergraduate and graduate tuition fees for the 2020 academic year to reduce the financial burden of education on parents and students.
Since 2009, the university has lowered or frozen tuition fees for 11 out of 12 years, participating in the nationwide effort to alleviate the burden of education expenses.
Additionally, the admission fee for new undergraduate students has been reduced by 20% this year, following the same reduction in 2018 and last year.
The university plans to gradually abolish the undergraduate admission fee by reducing it by 20% annually until 2021.
Despite freezing tuition fees, Dongshin University, which produced 12 full-time employees last year at public institutions relocated to Bitgaram Innovation City such as KEPCO, plans to significantly expand educational programs for students, including DS STAR and the Employment Academy, to further strengthen its position as a leader in employment.
It will also provide exceptional scholarship benefits to help enrolled students focus on their studies.
For new students, those with an average score of up to level 6 across four CSAT subjects in general departments will receive a Study Scholarship and a First Pass Plus Scholarship (study assistance fund).
If the average grade is within 3.75, full tuition for eight semesters will be waived, and the study assistance fund of 500,000 KRW per semester will be provided four times during enrollment.
