Gwangju Seo-gu Implements 'Comprehensive Resident Safety Measures' for Lunar New Year Holiday
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) announced on the 21st that from the 24th to the 27th, it will implement a comprehensive plan to stabilize residents' lives so that local residents and visitors returning to their hometowns can have a safe and comfortable Lunar New Year holiday.
To this end, detailed action plans have been established in 10 areas: ▲ traffic flow and safe transportation measures for returning visitors ▲ prevention and management of various disasters and safety accidents ▲ emergency medical care and prevention of food poisoning and infectious diseases ▲ special price control and revitalization of traditional markets ▲ support for low-income and vulnerable groups ▲ resolution of unpaid wages for workers ▲ stable supply of fuel ▲ handling of civil complaints such as issuance of certificates during the holiday period ▲ strict establishment of public service discipline ▲ clean and pleasant environmental maintenance. A comprehensive situation room will also be operated during the holiday period.
Each sector's situation response team will handle cleaning, disaster and accident response, medical care, traffic, fuel supply, advertising measures, park management, and civil complaint processing to ensure residents can receive assistance comfortably and promptly.
For residents urgently needing certificates, the 365-day civil service office located on the first floor of Lotte Mart in the Sangmu district will operate until 5 p.m., issuing documents such as resident registration certificates, seal certificates, and family relation certificates.
Additionally, traffic measures for returning and departing visitors have been prepared, including illegal parking enforcement around Gwangcheon Terminal, traditional markets, and large mart surrounding roads, as well as overnight parking enforcement for passenger and freight vehicles.
Cleaning teams and advertising control teams will operate to maintain a clean environment by collecting garbage normally except on Lunar New Year’s Day.
To prepare for emergencies such as the occurrence of emergency patients, a mobile medical team and medical guidance team will be organized, with the health center operating on the 25th (Lunar New Year’s Day) and the Seochang Health Clinic on the 26th.
