Damyang-gun 'Visiting Humanities Literacy Class' Student Recruitment
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 20th that it is recruiting new village students for the 'Visiting Humanities Literacy Class' to improve the quality of life and guarantee the right to pursue happiness for illiterate and low-educated adults who missed educational opportunities during school age due to economic and social reasons.
This year, to provide residents with broader learning opportunities, the literacy classes, which were operated at 32 locations last year, will be expanded to 40 locations.
The education consists of a twice-weekly learning schedule, focusing on studying Hangul as the foundation, along with basic learning necessary for daily life and activities such as creating poetry and painting works expressing the learned Hangul and pictures.
The Visiting Humanities Literacy Class will be organized if five or more people in each village wish to participate, and applications can be submitted through the town and township offices by the 29th of next month.
