KB Insurance Launches Cancer Insurance Offering Premium Discounts Based on Health Checkup Results
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] KB Insurance announced on the 20th that it has launched the 'KB Direct Health-Saving Cancer Health Insurance,' which lowers premiums based on health checkup results, in partnership with the financial platform BankSalad.
This product is directly subscribed through BankSalad, and if the customer consents at the time of subscription, the health checkup history and results from the National Health Insurance Service are automatically verified to provide discounts.
If blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and body mass index are classified as 'Normal A,' a 10% discount is applied to the entire premium payment period, and if only health checkup history within the last two years before insurance subscription is confirmed, a minimum 5% discount is provided.
The health checkup history and results are used solely as information for premium discounts and are not utilized as underwriting materials for insurance subscription. Additionally, customer health information is not stored as separate data.
Kim Seong-beom, Head of KB Insurance Direct Division, said, "We focused on providing premium discounts to healthy customers," adding, "We plan to expand partnerships with excellent financial platforms like BankSalad to offer customers the best insurance products and services."
Meanwhile, to commemorate the launch, KB Insurance is conducting an event offering free coffee coupons to customers who register their health checkup results on BankSalad.
