Gwanak-gu Launches 'Comprehensive Plan for a Joyful Lunar New Year Holiday'
Establishing Comprehensive Measures in 8 Key Areas Including Healthcare, Transportation, Price Stability, and Daily Life Inconvenience Resolution... Committed to Ensuring a Safe and Comfortable Holiday by Establishing an Emergency Work System for Staff
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) announced that it will take responsibility for the daily lives of residents during the Lunar New Year holiday by reducing inconveniences while ensuring safety, maintaining normalcy throughout the holiday period.
From the 20th to the 28th, the district will focus on eight key areas: ▲Warm holiday celebrations ▲Price stabilization measures ▲Traffic measures ▲Cold wave and snow removal measures ▲Safety measures ▲Resolution of residents' inconveniences ▲Medical measures ▲Establishment of public service discipline.
To this end, a ‘Lunar New Year Comprehensive Situation Room’ will be operated on the first floor of the district office, and functional task forces for traffic, snow removal, cleaning, medical care, and safety will be formed to maintain an emergency duty system.
First, to stabilize the supply of major seasonal goods and establish a sound distribution order, a Price Countermeasure Situation Room will be operated, and a Price Stabilization Task Force will be formed to focus on inspecting excessive and unfair price increases due to collusion, compliance with price labeling regulations, and illegal use of measuring devices. Pre-investigations will also be conducted on wage arrears between primary and subcontractors, including workers’ wages and construction machinery rental operators’ wage arrears.
Additionally, to allow residents to enjoy the holiday without parking worries, seven on-street public parking lots with a total of 333 spaces will be opened free of charge. To revitalize the use of traditional markets, temporary parking and stopping will be allowed on the roads around Jungbu Market in Haengun-dong (from the entrance of Gwanak Plaza to in front of Bongcheon-dong Saenggogi) until the 27th.
In preparation for major safety accidents, preemptive safety management will be strengthened at key construction sites including ▲Aged apartment complexes (3 sites) ▲Redevelopment construction sites (3 sites) ▲Building construction sites (66 sites), as well as public facilities such as ▲Road construction sites (2 sites) and road structures (92 sites), multi-use facilities such as ▲Large stores (1 site) and traditional markets (20 sites), and ▲Gas facilities (77 sites).
To prevent inconvenience in waste disposal, intensive waste collection will be conducted before the full start of the holiday, and a comprehensive cleaning situation room will be operated during the holiday to respond to urgent civil complaints.
Due to the cleaning contractors’ holidays, waste disposal will be prohibited from the 24th to the 25th, and disposal will be allowed again after 6 p.m. on the 26th. Accordingly, autonomous large-scale cleaning will be conducted at the community service centers before and after the Lunar New Year holiday to clean alleys and main roads.
Also, to prepare for patient occurrences during the holiday, an emergency medical guidance center will be operated on the 4th floor of the Gwanak-gu Public Health Center’s Medical Department from the 24th to the 27th, providing information on available on-duty medical institutions and holiday pharmacies. Inquiries about on-duty medical institutions and holiday pharmacies can be made to the Gwanak-gu Office Medical Department (☎879-7203, 7117) or ☎119, and information is also available on the Gwanak-gu Public Health Center website.
On the 25th, Lunar New Year Day, the internal medicine department on the 2nd floor of the health center will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For inquiries related to internal medicine treatment at the health center, contact the Gwanak-gu Office Medical Department (☎879-7072~3) for detailed guidance.
