Gwanak-gu Hosts 'Energy Saving Practice Village Competition'
Applications open until February 13, part of low-carbon green growth initiative... 15 million KRW incentives awarded to 8 energy-saving apartment complexes
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) announced that it will hold the 2020 ‘Energy Saving Practice Village Competition’ targeting apartments in the area.
Through the contest and selection of the ‘Energy Saving Practice Village,’ a low-carbon green growth initiative, the aim is to spread the energy-saving citizen movement and increase the eco-mileage subscription rate and energy reduction rate.
The district will select and support apartments with excellent energy-saving performance, eco-mileage membership registration, and solar power facility installation among about 120 apartments in the area.
The application period is until February 13.
The target is apartments registered as eco-mileage group members in Gwanak-gu, selected based on energy-saving performance from February to October.
The evaluation criteria are ▲ eco-mileage membership registration performance (60 points) ▲ excellent cases of energy-saving practice (20 points) ▲ energy-saving performance (15 points) ▲ participation in greenhouse gas diagnosis consulting (5 points).
The support scale is a total of 8 complexes with 15 million KRW. If selected as an excellent energy-saving practice village (apartment), incentives will be provided regardless of the number of households: 1st place 5 million KRW, 2nd place 3 million KRW, 3rd place 2 million KRW, and 1 million KRW each for 5 encouragement awards.
Additionally, households participating in eco-mileage can receive mileage worth up to 100,000 KRW annually based on the reduction rate, calculated every six months for electricity, water, and city gas usage.
The mileage can be used as cash conversion, traditional market gift certificates, mobile gift certificates, or donated to neighbors experiencing inconvenience due to lack of energy, and can also be used for local taxes, apartment management fees, and more.
Mayor Park Junhee said, “We will continue to carry out various projects for energy saving, such as activating eco-mileage subscriptions and expanding the supply of renewable energy,” and added, “We ask for the active participation and interest of apartment officials and residents in the Energy Saving Practice Village Competition.”
