Justice Party "Im Hansol, Who Declared Withdrawal, Will Be Expelled"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] On the 17th, the Justice Party decided to remove the position and proceed with expulsion procedures against Im Hansol, the former vice representative who declared his withdrawal from the party.
Kang Minjin, spokesperson for the Justice Party, held a briefing at the National Assembly immediately after Im’s withdrawal declaration and stated, "Im unilaterally resigned from his district councilor position, and our party concluded at the emergency executive committee meeting at 10 PM last night that severe disciplinary action against him is inevitable."
The spokesperson added, "The executive committee decided to remove Im’s vice representative position according to the party regulations on special disciplinary measures for elected officials, and today we will file a complaint with the party disciplinary committee and request expulsion."
He said, "Originally, the executive committee was reconvened this morning to hear Im’s explanation, but Im did not attend and instead held a press conference announcing his intention to leave the party. We promise that the Justice Party will continue to take the lead in efforts to uncover the truth about the May 18 incident and punish those responsible."
Im, a councilor of Seodaemun-gu, gained public attention by tracking the actions of Jeon Du-hwan, including 'golf rounds' and a 'celebratory luncheon for the December 12 incident.' He had hoped to run in the general election but, according to party regulations requiring the executive committee’s approval for incumbent elected officials to run for other public offices, his request for approval was denied.
