Bucheon-si Eases Medical Expense Support Criteria for Atopy and Asthma... Below 80% of Median Income
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province is expanding support by relaxing the medical expense support criteria for children with atopic dermatitis and asthma from households with health insurance subscribers earning 65% or less of the median income to those earning 80% or less starting this year.
The support targets children aged 15 or younger (born on or after January 1, 2005) registered as residents of Bucheon City who have been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis (L20.0~20.9), bronchial asthma (J45~J56), or allergic rhinitis (J30.1~J30.4) based on disease codes.
Medical expenses (consultation fees, medication costs) incurred after January 1 of this year will be supported up to an annual limit of 300,000 KRW per person for insured co-payments. Non-covered expenses such as substitute foods, moisturizers, herbal medicine, and consumables are excluded. For children with atopic dermatitis, one moisturizer will be provided quarterly.
Applications can be made by visiting Sosa Health Center and submitting a medical certificate, medical expense receipts, detailed medical expense statements, health insurance premium payment confirmation or proof of vulnerable status, resident registration certificate, and health insurance card.
