New Conservative Party publicly demands Park Hyung-jun's resignation... "If the Korean Party does not accept the consultative body, a serious decision will be made"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] The New Conservative Party, which officially proposed the formation of a 'two-party consultative body' to the Liberty Korea Party, publicly demanded the resignation of Park Hyung-joon, chairman of the Innovation and Integration Promotion Committee (IIPC), accusing him of obstructing party-level integration negotiations.
Ji Sang-wook, chief spokesperson of the New Conservative Party, issued a statement on the 16th, urging, "As the chairman of the IIPC who holds a neutral duty, why does he interfere with the political actions of the New Conservative Party?"
He said, "Is Chairman Park the spokesperson for the Liberty Korea Party? That is why we have already demanded to start from a blank slate, as we have not approved Chairman Park's qualifications," adding, "We demand the resignation of Chairman Park for violating neutrality."
Chief spokesperson Ji also indicated the possibility of non-participation by stating, "We need to seriously reconsider whether to continue participating in the IIPC."
Earlier that morning at the IIPC meeting, Chairman Park stated regarding the New Conservative Party's proposal to form a two-party consultative body with the Liberty Korea Party, "The Liberty Korea Party side has also expressed regret," and "I think there will be no consultative body." He added, "While separate discussions that are not public are acceptable, we agreed that creating a discussion body that could weaken the IIPC is undesirable," expressing regret to Ha Tae-kyung, the responsible representative of the New Conservative Party.
In response, Ha Tae-kyung urged through his Facebook on the same day, "Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the Liberty Korea Party, should promptly respond to the New Conservative Party's proposal to form a two-party integration consultative body," and emphasized, "A declaration of integration without action lacks sincerity."

He warned, "As public expectations for conservative reconstruction and innovative integration mature, confusion and speculation are rampant. To organize unconfirmed unofficial sources and pave the way for innovative integration, decisive driving force from both the New Conservative Party and the Liberty Korea Party is necessary," adding, "If the Liberty Korea Party continues to be passive in bilateral talks, we will have no choice but to define the Liberty Korea Party as an anti-integration force and make a serious decision."
