[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] BTS's hopeful 'positive influence' message to teenagers continues this year as well. This year, they are partnering with Starbucks Coffee Korea. BTS and Starbucks plan to deliver a message of empathy and hope to the youth, the future of South Korea, saying, "You are a star that shines just as you are." Additionally, they will release collaborative beverages and other products, with a portion of the proceeds from the sales of these collaborative items donated to the Beautiful Foundation.
CEO Song Ho-seop stated on the 16th, "We feel very honored to collaborate with BTS, who are spreading positive influence not only in Korea but globally," adding, "We hope that the positive influence BTS has shown so far will be conveyed to many customers through Starbucks this time, becoming an opportunity to garner much interest and support for projects that assist the truly shining stars, the youth of South Korea."
Starbucks has been steadily discussing the project to spread 'positive influence' with BTS since last year. It is reported that the global headquarters of Starbucks in the United States also showed great interest in the collaboration with BTS and hoped for good results.
From the 21st to February 6th, Starbucks will introduce one purple-colored beverage, five food items, and six MD products in collaboration with BTS, launching a campaign to support the dreams of South Korean youth. Purple is the color symbolizing BTS.
A Starbucks representative explained, "Since the 1st, we have been running a New Year promotion themed 'Be the Brightest Stars,' and now, together with BTS, who are spreading positive influence across society, we plan to deliver a message of empathy and hope to the youth, the future of South Korea."
During the campaign season, Starbucks will create a fund from a portion of the sales proceeds of items collaborated with BTS and donate it to support the 'Youth Independence Project' in partnership with the Beautiful Foundation. Earlier, on the 8th, Starbucks signed an MOU with the Beautiful Foundation to support the independence of youth aging out of protective facilities who must become self-reliant.
Meanwhile, the campaign will feature various purple-colored products symbolizing the starry night sky, including the 'Blooming Purple Vin Chaud.' The 'Blooming Purple Vin Chaud' is a vin chaud beverage made with grape juice and fruits, subtly scented with elderflower, carrying a message of encouragement to warm the cold like vin chaud and comfort the youth of South Korea who shine like stars.
Six collaborative MD products with BTS will also be released, including one mug luxuriously designed with real gold, two glasses, two pouches that can hold tablets and laptops, and one keychain in a tin case.
