Broadcasting Commission Receives Application for Personal Location Information Business Permit
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Korea Communications Commission announced on the 15th that it will accept applications for personal location information business permits from the 30th of this month until the 6th of next month. The personal location information business involves collecting location information of specific individuals and providing it to location-based service companies.
The KCC will hold an explanatory session regarding the personal location information business permits at 2 p.m. on the 17th at the Government Complex Gwacheon. Afterwards, an external expert review committee will be formed to examine the feasibility of business plans and technical and managerial protection measures.

Corporations wishing to apply for personal location information business permits or approvals can apply through the electronic civil service website or in writing, and submit their business plans by visiting the KCC's Personal Information Protection and Ethics Division or by mail.
