Issuance of 3 Billion KRW Dobong Love Mobile Gift Certificates

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) announced on the 17th that it will issue 3 billion KRW worth of Dobong Sarang Gift Certificates, a Zero Pay-based mobile gift certificate.

The Dobong Sarang Gift Certificates can be used at Zero Pay affiliated stores within Dobong-gu. Consumers can purchase the gift certificates at a 7% discount at all times, with a maximum discounted purchase limit of 500,000 KRW per month.

Additionally, affiliated stores are exempt from fees.

The gift certificates come in three denominations: 10,000 KRW, 50,000 KRW, and 100,000 KRW. Consumers can purchase them by downloading a mobile app. The Dobong Sarang Gift Certificates can be purchased through nine mobile applications (CheckPay, MoneyTree, BizPlay, NongHyup All One Bank, Gwangju Bank Personal Banking, Jeonbuk Bank New Smart Banking, Gyeongnam Bank To You Bank, Busan Bank Some Bank, Daegu Bank IM Shop).

Using the gift certificates follows the existing Zero Pay payment method. The seller scans the gift certificate QR code on the consumer’s mobile app with the affiliated store’s device, or the consumer scans the QR code posted at the affiliated store with their mobile app and enters the purchase amount.

The Dobong Sarang Gift Certificates cannot be used at large supermarkets, department stores, large corporate affiliates, certain franchises, or entertainment businesses to help increase sales for small business owners.

Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu said, “The Dobong Sarang Gift Certificates will help increase sales for small business owners facing difficulties,” and added, “We will strive to establish the Dobong Sarang Gift Certificates as a staple for local residents and small business owners to revitalize the local economy.”
