Justice Party "Satellite parties of the Korean Party should be disallowed regardless of name"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] The Justice Party stated that the Central Election Commission's decision to prohibit the use of the name "Proportional Liberty Korea Party" is "a natural decision to ban the use of party names that deceive the public." They argued that regardless of the name, the creation of a satellite party by the Liberty Korea Party itself should be disallowed.
Kang Min-jin, spokesperson for the Justice Party, said in a briefing on the 13th, "The Election Commission stated that the party registration application can be made under a different name, raising concerns that the Liberty Korea Party might harbor false hopes again," adding, "Regardless of the similarity of the name, the satellite party that the Liberty Korea Party is trying to establish is essentially a 'camouflage party' and a 'fake party,' so the Election Commission should refuse to approve the registration of its establishment in the future."
He emphasized that the Political Parties Act stipulates that political parties must be voluntary organizations of the people and must operate democratically. Spokesperson Kang said, "An organization where everything from the party name to the representative is decided according to another party's will, without any autonomous decision-making, cannot be recognized as an independent 'political party.' We hope the Election Commission will follow up with a firm decision to prevent the birth of camouflage and subcontracted parties."

He continued, "During the preparation process for the establishment of the Proportional Liberty Korea Party, multiple suspicions of violations of the Political Parties Act, Political Funds Act, and Labor Standards Act have been revealed. Therefore, the Election Commission must responsibly investigate the facts, and strict judgment by investigative agencies on legal violations is indispensable," adding, "We will closely monitor illegal attempts to establish satellite parties and, if necessary, file complaints and accusations to prevent our country's party politics from becoming polluted by illegality and trickery."
