20 Million Won Donated to Jeonnam Social Welfare Community Chest
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Lim Hongsik, CEO of Samsung Investment Co., Ltd., donated 20 million won in donations for low-income households.
According to the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Noh Dongil) on the 13th, Lim, a member of the Honor Society Jeonnam No. 79 and Yeonggwang No. 9, delivered 20 million won in donations for low-income households in Yeonggwang-eup, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeonnam on that day.
The donation ceremony was attended by Kim Sanggyun, Secretary General of the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea, CEO Lim and executives, Oh Jongun, head of Yeonggwang-eup, and staff members.
The donated funds are planned to be fully supported for social welfare projects promoted by Yeonggwang-eup through the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea.
CEO Lim said, “I always remember December 18, 2018, when I joined the Honor Society,” adding, “It was the day I promised to donate 100 million won, and I am happy to be keeping that promise today and feel a greater sense of responsibility. I plan to continue striving to keep my promise.”
He continued, “I feel rewarded to support the neighbors in need in Yeonggwang-eup together with the Fruit of Love, and I hope that my sharing during this cold winter will be delivered as a warm gift.”
Meanwhile, CEO Lim’s donations began when he learned that a person living in the same neighborhood in 1979 was suffering due to illness and inability to earn money, struggling with living and medical expenses, so he helped with living and medical costs.
Since then, he has consistently engaged in sharing activities such as providing living expenses to elderly living alone and neighbors in need, holding wedding ceremonies for elderly couples and low-income families, and expanded his donation activities by establishing ‘Gungjeon Wedding Hall’ to support free weddings.
