Bident, "Withdrawal of Unjust Enrichment Claim Related to Bithumb Stock Purchase Payment"
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Vident announced on the 13th that it has withdrawn the unjust enrichment claim lawsuit related to the stock purchase payment of Bithumb Holdings.
On December 27 last year, Vident confirmed that the National Tax Service imposed approximately 80.3 billion KRW in taxes on Bithumb Korea, a subsidiary of Bithumb Holdings, regarding income tax withholding for foreign customers.
The company explained, "We filed a lawsuit against Lee Jeong-hoon as the defendant and disclosed it to compensate for potential damages that the company could incur." It added, "After filing the lawsuit, to compensate for potential damages arising from Bithumb Korea's tax imposition, stakeholders Lee Jeong-hoon and Kim Ki-beom (representative of individual shareholders) deposited approximately 12.5 billion KRW as a payment guarantee limit to the company, and Vident established a pledge right on the deposit account for the individual shareholder representative (Kim Ki-beom)."

Furthermore, it stated, "The deposit for the payment guarantee will be used to finalize the amount of damages incurred by the company once the final tax amount is confirmed according to Bithumb Korea's legal response, and the payment amount to the company will be determined within the payment guarantee limit."
