Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Commits at Tourism Industry Forum and New Year Networking Event on the 14th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 13th that it will hold the '2020 Tourism Industry Forum and New Year Exchange Meeting' with the Korea Tourism Association at the Novotel Ambassador Hotel in Dongdaemun, Seoul on the 14th.
At this event, public and private sectors will pledge cooperation to achieve 20 million foreign tourists this year. The Tourism Industry Forum will cover 'Analysis and Prospects of Tourism Trends' and 'Traveler-Centered Regional Tourism Development Strategies.' Afterwards, a New Year Exchange Meeting will be held with about 200 attendees, including members of the National Assembly, heads of tourism-related institutions and organizations, and industry representatives.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Park Yang-woo will express gratitude to tourism professionals for their efforts, noting that South Korea attracted a record high of 17.5 million foreign tourists in 2019 and ranked 16th in the tourism competitiveness evaluation announced by the World Economic Forum. He will also urge the government and tourism industry to unite their strength and wisdom to open an era of 20 million foreign tourists and 120 trillion won in tourism expenditure this year.
